"Once you opt for a De Vries, you will get nothing but a De Vries".
Reeds are indispensable in nature: animals find their resting and breeding places in reed beds and reeds are part of an important ecosystem. It is therefore important that reed beds are maintained in a safe and correct manner. This is where reed mowing comes into play.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we are very familiar with this. When mowing natural processes are barely disturbed. The quality of the reed obtained to a large extent depends on how it is mown. It is therefore necessary to ensure that the mowing is done with care. And that is where we come in.
"Low ground pressure from just 75 g/cm2"
We not only mow our own reed beds, but also those of others. The mowing is done with reed mowers equipped with 3.10-metre-wide mowing heads. The mower is 2.97 metres wide, so the mowing heads protrude on both sides. As soon as a cut has been made, the mowing head can be moved 40 centimetres to the right using the side shift function. This ensures that the ditch edges can also be properly mowed. The mowing heads are constructed in such a way that reed with a length of 0.5-2.8 metres can be mowed neatly and cleanly. The lower reed is included in the reed bundles, which have a pointed shape as a result. The reed is then mechanically bundled and prepared for transport.
"Up to 4000 bundles per day per mower".
